Summary: Once again, the Asylum indulges this year in shark movies. It seemed to be going through a phase when it made at least four of them in one single year. Either way, this one at least gets a bit more credit for not just instantly picking the great white as a monster. Instead, we get something new. Something just as bloodthirsty, of course.

History: Somewhere in the Arctic Circle, the Oasis research facility is in trouble, along with everyone else living near it. Global warming has freed a new species of giant predatory shark. One that can move in icy-cold water at alarming speed, as well as pluck anything off the ice. And now, they have managed to sink the facility. Can those within survive?

Notable Kills: An entire sleigh, huskies and human alike, is eaten by one shark.

Final Fate: After many of the sharks are driven away or killed, whomever survived the excursion is saved by a big boat that carries them to safety. There's no telling if the sharks are still out there, but who would want to live in this frigid wasteland, anyway?

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-The gnarly designs and tenacious behavior of these polar predators is nothing to sneeze at. They are, as many sharks are, perfectly adapted for any hunt. But what they weren't quite adapted for was awful special effects being forced to carry them. It's times like this where we wonder what would happen if we gave the Asylum the average budget of a summer blockbuster. Then maybe, their monsters will stop sucking in the CGI department.

Trivia: -A shark known to live in the polar regions is the Greenland shark. It is one of the most long-lived of sharks, as well as one of the largest ones that eats things bigger than small fish. In fact, its diet mainly consists of the carcasses of larger animals like polar bears, not that it'll make exceptions for live ones. It is, however, very sluggish, and sometimes has a large copepod eating away at its eye, forcing it to use its other senses. The parasite does attract some prey to the shark, though.

-Fittingly, most of the characters are named after ones from 1982's "The Thing".
